Other: The vintage Seiko 6105 Diver is perhaps most well known in collector circles for its appearance on Captain Willard's (Martin Sheen's) wrist in the famous 1979 film, Apocalypse Now by Francis Coppola. Its presence in the film makes sense given that these watches were very popular amongst soldiers in Vietnam. In fact, we have sourced several 6105 divers from veterans who originally purchased them at the military PX in Vietnam. We are pleased to offer this later "RESIST-RESIST" example from February of 1976 in superb original condition. If you've been hunting for one of these, you already know that it has become exceedingly difficult to find one in this condition. We love the classic matte black dial with applied metal "SEIKO" logo and vibrant black bezel insert!
For peace of mind, the in-house Seiko 6105 movement has just been completely overhauled by our watchmaker with a NOS factory mainspring barrel and NOS factory balance complete installed for optimal performance. The 6105B comes with a convenient quick-set date and hacking seconds for precise time synchronization. In terms of aesthetics, we sourced and installed a factory genuine NOS Seiko crystal and fresh gaskets. Given the top quality of this watch, we went the extra mile and had the original locking crown rebuilt for factory water resistance. We still do NOT recommend submerging this collector-grade watch in water even though it passed a full wet pressure test. The replica 19mm Seiko "waffle" diver strap completes the factory look.
