Other: This is a rare opportunity to own a top-quality vintage Gallet Flying Officer with an incredible glossy black dial for only a fraction of the cost of an earlier "Truman" Flying Officer. Sure the "Truman" Flying Officer is a grail, but those clamshell cases wear much smaller than this later screw-back model. As you can see, this watch looks absolutely killer on the wrist. We love the early silver "GALLET" logo and world cities printed in red. Lately we have been getting more requests for Gallet chronographs than any other brand. If you look through old Gallet catalogs, it's easy to understand why... They made so many incredible special-use chronographs and were way ahead of other brands in terms of new developments and timeless design.

According to Gallet World, "the original Flight Officer evolved directly from the Gallet MultiChron model 30, the world’s first fully waterproof wrist worn chronograph. A rotating 12 hour bezel and dial indications for the world's major cities was added to the MultiChron 30, making it possible to easily calculate changes in the time as an aircraft flew across lines of longitude. Developed upon specific request by Harry S Truman for the United States Army Air Forces, this ground breaking new timepiece was issued exclusively to the American and British pilots who flew the missions to our victory during WWII. After the war, the Flight Officer became a watch of choice for both commercial and private aviators across the globe. With the ability to calculate changes in time zones as a pilot crossed over lines of longitude, the Gallet Flight Officer chronograph is one of the most renowned and respected military use timepieces ever created."
