Other: This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an elusive Gallet Yachting. This special-use chronograph was originally designed by Gallet in the 1940s for regatta racing. If you haven't been out yachting recently, we'll break it down for you: The blue, red, and white segments each represent 5-minute intervals within the 15-minute countdown. In the 15 minutes leading up to a race, yachts are jockeying for position behind a starting buoy - The tri-color coding makes the chronograph easy for skippers to read at a glance, letting them know when they can cross the starting line. Given the relative obscurity of the sport, tool watches designed specifically for this purpose are quite rare. This particular example is a later Gallet execution with characteristic tri-color minute register and Valjoux 7733 movement. The earlier EP4 models did not come with a colorful minute sub-register. You'll notice that Gallet has the minutes counting down from 55 to 5 on the outer dial track instead of the usual 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.
We strongly believe that the Gallet designed the most attractive vintage regatta watches that money can buy, and this superb example comes available for sale from Justin's personal collection. It was sourced years ago from the daughter of the original owner (who was an avid sailor). Simply put, it's hard to beat the unique colorful regatta sub-register and overall design execution. The 36mm steel case wears so well on the wrist, and the matching blue Swiss Tropic strap can bring you all the summer vibes even when it's cold outside. If you collect these or are trying to track one down, you already know how difficult they are to find in this condition.
