Gallet Double-Button MultiChron 12HR Chronograph

Brand: Gallet

Model: Double-Button "MultiChron 12HR" Chronograph (Plain Dial); ca. 1940s (RARE)

Case: All stainless steel (signed by Gallet & Co.); 34mm (excluding the original crown)

Strap: 18mm handcrafted distressed brown leather double-stitch strap by Analog/Shift

Movement: Valjoux cal. 72 manual-winding chronograph (17J); signed by Gallet & Co.

Features: Stunning original dial and original blued-steel handset; 12-hour chronograph

Condition: Great original condition overall; solid steel case appears to be unpolished with sharp edges and bevels; original dial exhibits fantastic "tropical" patina throughout

Other: This extremely-rare Double-Button chronograph is one of the earliest variations of the (now-famous) MultiChron 12HR lineup. With a retail price of $103.40 for the plain dial variation, it was a super expensive watch. When Gallet's in-house production team couldn't keep up with incoming orders, they subsituted the equally-impressive Valjoux 72 in lieu of their standard Excelsior Park 40. It wears much larger than its stated size due to its elongated lugs, and the unique dial looks absolutely incredible on the wrist!
