Gallet Double-Button MultiChron 12HR Chronograph

SOLD

Brand: Gallet

Model: Double-Button "MultiChron 12HR" Chronograph (Plain Dial); ca. 1940s (RARE)

Case: All stainless steel (signed by Gallet & Co.); 34mm (excluding the original crown)

Strap: 18mm handcrafted distressed brown leather double-stitch strap by Analog/Shift

Movement: Valjoux cal. 72 manual-winding chronograph (17J); signed by Gallet & Co.

Features: Stunning original dial and original blued-steel handset; 12-hour chronograph

Condition: Great original condition overall; solid steel case appears to be unpolished with sharp edges and bevels; original dial exhibits fantastic "tropical" patina throughout

Other: This extremely-rare Double-Button chronograph is one of the earliest variations of the (now-famous) MultiChron 12HR lineup. With a retail price of $103.40 for the plain dial variation, it was a very expensive watch at that time. It wears much larger than its stated size due to its elongated lugs, and the unique dial looks absolutely incredible on the wrist!
