Condition: Very nice condition overall with minor wear consistent with age and use; excellent solid stainless steel case with razor-sharp edges and bevels; crisp caseback exhibits partial loss of its green enamel in the center and some minor scratches; very attractive metallic silver sunburst dial with yellow Tritium lume; original Tritium hands with all luminous material in tact and aged to a darker hue; clean original domed acrylic crystal with internal magnifier

Other: The Longines Conquest line included some incredibly beautiful watches and this rare reference 9024-2 is no exception. It is simple and understated, yet elegant enough to wear with a suit and tie. This particular example was delivered to Hattori in Japan at the end of 1965 according to the Longines extract from the archives. It is a late example of the 9024 with date window placement at 3 o'clock (instead of 12 o'clock) and correct traditional signed crown instead of the "scalloped" crown found on earlier first-generation examples. For under a grand, you get a versatile stainless steel watch from a powerhouse brand with fantastic proportions and an in-house automatic movement.
