Other: When we discovered this rare 1971 Seth Thomas "Stingray" Chrono-Diver in all-original and untouched condition, we had never seen another! It is unbelievably cool... After doing some research, we discovered that these were manufactured by Roamer Watch Company for Seth Thomas. We also learned that this higher-grade example with Valjoux 23 movement and signed Gay Frères bracelet is much more rare. Most of these came with a date window and corresponding Valjoux 7734 movement. No disrespect to the Valjoux 7734 movement, but the Valjoux 23 is on another level. It is basically a two-register version of the legendary Valjoux 72 with column-wheel activation. Everything about this watch is really high quality for 1971. The Gay Frères bracelet is super tight and sharp. Even the crown and acrylic crystal are signed. We seriously doubt that you'll ever run into anyone else wearing one of these. And if you do, it surely won't be in as nice of condition. If you collect only the best quality, this watch fits into that category! In case you want to read more about these, Michael Stockton of Fratello Watches did an excellent #TBT post way back in 2016.
