Other: This incredible vintage JDM Seiko Speed-Timer is the definition of cool - How did Seiko pack so many features into one watch while retaining such a balanced and appealing design aesthetic? We love the blue 15-minute regatta sub-register and blacked out day-date display against the exotic metallic dial that shifts colors between blue, grey, and purple depending on the lighting. This is by far the most exciting dial option on the -8002 in our humble opinion! Seiko opted for orange chronograph hands on this model for increased legibility and it all just works so well. How cool is the Japanese "Kanji" day display? Especially on Sunday when it turns to red... This particular Speed-Timer comes in collector-grade condition on its rare original Seiko 5 Sports bracelet and is ready to pair with your Japanese sports car (i.e. a Honda S2000 in Suzuka Blue).

For peace of mind, the Seiko 6139 movement has just been completely overhauled by our watchmaker with a new old stock factory Seiko mineral glass crystal and fresh gaskets installed at the time of service. Speaking of the 6139 movement, it was quite possibly the very first automatic chronograph movement to come to market commercially (May of 1969). The Zenith El Primero and Heuer cal. 11 movements also debuted that year. You can read more about this controversial topic from our friends at HODINKEE and OnTheDash. Regardless of which movement actually came first, the Seiko 6139 is a steal in the marketplace today compared to comparable watches from Heuer and Zenith.
