Condition: Mint original condition overall (almost NOS) with only minor honest signs of wear consistent with age and very light use; 40mm solid stainless steel case is completely unpolished with sharp finishes throughout; crisp screw-down caseback remains clearly legible with some of its original purple wax still in tact; beautiful original exotic blue dial with all Tritium lume plots in tact and aged to an attractive yellow hue; matching original hands with a tiny bit of luminous material flaked out of the hour hand; very clean original domed acrylic crystal; excellent original stainless steel bracelet matches the overall condition of the watch

Other: It's no secret that the yachting regatta countdown is one of our all-time favorite complications here at watchsteez. If you haven't been out yachting recently, we'll break it down for you: The alternating blue segments each represent 5-minute intervals within the chronograph register. In the 15 minutes leading up to a race, yachts are jockeying for position behind a starting buoy - The colored coding makes the chronograph easy for skippers to read at a glance, letting them know when they can cross the starting line. Given the relative obscurity of the sport, tool watches designed specifically for this purpose are quite rare. We absolutely love this 1970s Deco chronograph with its unique exotic dial and large 40mm stainless steel case. The dial is reminiscent of an old digital radar screen. Everything down to the bracelet oozes high quality. The Buren 15 "Chronomatic" movement with offset running seconds at 10 o'clock was a perfect selection to power this funky watch since it only requires 30-minute recording capability. In terms of condition, it doesn't get much better than this... The watch is nearly new old stock and appears to have been worn very sparingly. It even retains part of its original purple wax sticker on the caseback.
