Other: This vintage Seiko Speed-Timer is the definition of cool - How did Seiko pack so many features into one watch while retaining such a balanced and appealing design aesthetic? We love how the blacked out day-date display blends into the matte black dial, and the vibrant colors really pop! The day of the week can be displayed in English or Spanish and Sunday is shown in red. Seiko opted for bright orangish-red chronograph hands on this model for increased legibility and it all just works so well. This particular Speed-Timer comes in superb original condition on its rare original Seiko bracelet and is ready to pair with your Japanese sports car (i.e. a Honda S2000 in Berlina Black).

For peace of mind, the Seiko 6139 movement has just been completely overhauled by our watchmaker with a new tempered mineral glass crystal and fresh gaskets installed at the time of service (the original parts will also be included with the watch). Speaking of the 6139 movement, it was quite possibly the very first automatic chronograph movement to come to market commercially (May of 1969). The Zenith El Primero and Heuer cal. 11 movements also debuted that year. You can read more about this controversial topic from our friends at HODINKEE and OnTheDash. Regardless of which movement actually came first, the Seiko 6139 is a steal in the marketplace today compared to comparable watches from Heuer and Zenith.
