Other: The Heuer Autavia "Viceroy" Chronograph represents an interesting time in Heuer's company history. With the debut of their first automatic chronograph movement in 1969 (the Calibre 11), sales of Heuer automatic chronograph models moving into the 1970s were extremely slow. Who would have thought that an unlikely partnership with Viceroy Cigarettes would save the day? We could go on and on about the nitty gritty details, but our friends at HODINKEE (with the help of Jeff Stein from OnTheDash), already explained How The Number Three Cigarette In America Made Heuer A Household Name. Bottom line is that it doesn't get much cooler than the "Viceroy" in the vintage chronograph world if you've got around $5K to spend (especially if you're a car guy like most of us). It has a cool racing look, the size is great, and it comes with a bit of history to tell.
